3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner Project: Interior Wood trim Removal

We explain 3 steps to remove the interior wood trim from the 3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner (1998). It makes the interior of the 4Runner a lot sharper compared to the old and worn out wood trim look.

Step 1: Heat and remove wood trim, hoping the glue stays on the wood as much as possible. Less glue on the plastic trim equals less work.

Step 2: Remove the chunks of glue left behind with a spray can lid. The plastic is softer then the trim plastic, but strong enough to remove chunks of glue. Light heat helped here as well.

Step 3: Soak the plastic trim with “Goo Gone” and let it sit for 5 minutes. Very light heat helped. Scrub all the glue off and add heat as necessary.
